In a January 2007 study, it was found that 4,306 candidates for a real estate sales associate license sat for the examination. Those who were taking the examination for the first time (1,891) had a pass rate of 44 percent, a little below the previous year's average pass rate of 46 percent. Re-testing statistics are even worse: 72 per cent of the 2,415 sales associate canidates retaking the examination failed. Do not be one of the statistics. You can pass on the first try with the help of this book. The book presents a clear and complete overview of all the main topics covered on the real estate salesperson examination and gives exam applicants the information and tools they need to successfully pass the exam - on the first attempt. You will improve your test taking skills by completing the included sample test. Subjects covered include real estate legal issues, encumbrances, real estate law, financing real estate purchases, leasing, escrow accounts, contracts and legal documents including leases, taxes and taxation, land descriptions, and real estate math, terms, and definitions.

5The Complete Guide to Passing Your Real Estate Sales License Exam on the First Attempt  Jun 19, 2009 By Fred Marmorstein
While only four chapters of Lambert's book focus primarily on the fundamentals of real estate principles, those 107 pages explain clearly and concisely the necessary steps to pass a real estate exam. Areas of law, finance, appraisal, and real estate practices are thoroughly examined.

The subtitle ("Everything you need to know explained simply") appropriately defines the contents of this book, especially the two chapters devoted to preparing for the exam. Test preparation is often neglected, but Lambert's book takes an in-depth look at this important topic. Additionally, the book has two sample tests to check your understanding.

Most importantly, Lambert's book provides special features that ensure the reader will successfully pass the real estate license test. Case studies spread throughout the book offer insight and first-hand experience directly related to real estate from experts in the field. There is also a math review to refresh basic skills and reinforce those needed on the exam. Finally, Lambert has created a user friendly glossary allowing for easy access to key words and concepts.

4very comprehensive  Jul 08, 2009 By JSL "JSL"
Review: Believe it or not, this book may not just be good for those preparing to take their real estate exams; it may actually be good for consumers as well. In this day and age, consumers could benefit from an overview of real estate this book gives. The book is comprehensive, and is particularly helpful in reviewing certain skills needed for the test. The book does a good job at reviewing math and critical thinking skills. Perhaps the book falls a little short in the "promise" department. The fact that each state has its own tests makes the promise of passing it on the first try a bit disingenuous. That said, the text does offer good sample questions - though sometimes it does feel like a "one size fits all" text. Perhaps there could be a little more about Real Estate ethics particularly in light of the latest issues in our economy.

4Good Resource!  Oct 06, 2009 By L. Dolnick
This book will help you on your path to preparing for a real estate sales license exam. But don't expect it to take you 100% of the way. The book helps you locate further resources to get you through the local state variations of these exams. So while it is not a one-stop resource for the exam - it does help you determine if this is a career area you are even interested in and lays out pretty clearly what to expect for the exam.

Written for those who have been out of school and the test-taking mode, this book provides sample real estate exams and helpful tips for test-taking in general. I found some of the hints pretty basic - but then I'm using these math equations in my job daily. If I put myself in someone's shoes who hasn't - the math reviews would be an extremely helpful starting point. There's a solid glossary and a lot of resource links for those looking for a study/review aid. If you are purchasing a home - this is also a good tool to understand the process and the terms you will come in contact with. Everything from Real Estate Law, to Practices and Principles and even Mortgages are covered.

4Helpful resource  Nov 05, 2010 By N. Perz
This book is fairly helpful but keep in mind: it is NOT a substitute for a more complete course and/or study materials. If all you do is read this book and then take the exam, you probably won't pass. Sometimes, however, having the same material presented a different way can be useful. There are two "sample tests" of 100 questions each. I did find several mistakes, however; most likely the result of some bad editing. Still, you can never take too many sample tests.

Recommended.

3Real Estate Newbie  Feb 28, 2012 By Real Estate Newbie
I bought this book and another book to help me prepare for my pre-license course exam; not even the state exam. I used the course materials, this book and another book; 'The Complete Preparation Guide to REAL ESTATE SALES EXAM' from Learning Express PLUS I used on-line research tools such as Investopedia. I am APPALLED by the number of mistakes and errors I encountered in these materials! For example, question 57 on exam 1 addresses judgement priorities; and asks - '...which lien has the lowest PROPERTY?' THAT'S THE WRONG WORD!

This is just ONE OF MANY mistakes!!! So if THEIR answers don't seem correct; check THEIR math; you will find mistakes! Also, all three sources seemed to have overlapping materials; some identical questions and errors, so you can safely assume that you should not depend on the others for the correct solution. BEWARE!!!
